This is an original limited edition silkscreen print of a yellow legged gull, a small and not particularly aggressive member of the gull family. The style of this print is faintly reminiscent of the manga style, though not intentional, due to the painterly background and the black outline style of drawing along with the block colours.

This art print is from a series of birds. Each layer of this print has been drawn or painted on drafting film by hand, in a completely analogue process. The computer has only been used to print out the reference photograph.

Fiona Hamilton is an artist and master printmaker based in Bristol. Interested in process she uses a combination of mediums, both traditional and contemporary, to produce unique imagery, often as one off pieces or in very small runs. Fiona has a degree in Graphic Fine Art from Canterbury, Kent and MA Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from UWE, Bristol.
