This original limited edition cyanotype print depicts a jackdaw on a post. It is taken from an original photograph by Fiona and is reproduced in a dark blue, pure cyanotype print with a pale yellow-grey background from the developing process. 

The cyanotype emulsion is painted on by hand, so small variations in the edition will occur. Variations will include the brushstrokes, the darkness of the blue and the background staining. Fiona currently uses an exposure unit to expose so the quality of the prints is exceptional and better than in the image.

Cyanotype is a type of cameraless photography using light sensitive emulsion and is often used in printmaking.

Fiona Hamilton is a printmaker based in Bristol. Interested in process she uses a combination of mediums, both traditional and contemporary, to produce unique imagery, often as one off pieces or in very small runs. Fiona has a degree in Graphic Fine Art Printmaking from Canterbury, Kent and MA Printmaking from UWE, Bristol.
