Wooden Folk Heart Brooch by Kate Rowland.

Made from poplar and birch plywood.
Fastened by a brooch bar.

A heart-shaped brooch made from poplar and birch plywood. the intricate folk-inspired floral design has been engraved in two different tones for a beautiful, dimensional finish. the centre of each heart is hand painted in a colour of your choice, or applied with a layer of gold leaf. the brooch is then varnished to protect the natural surface of the wood. designed and handmade in Kate's Northamptonshire studio.

Laser cut from responsibly sourced, fast growing poplar and birch plywood. finished with a 25mm brooch bar back.

Kate Rowland is a jewellery designer and illustrator, living and working in Northamptonshire, UK.

Her design ethos is to create playful, conversation-starting jewellery made from ethically sourced materials. She studied illustration and brings her love of drawing into the jewellery. She draws each piece by hand, and works to retain the hand drawn aesthetic through the precise laser cutting process.

Kate uses responsibly sourced poplar plywood and british manufactured jewellery findings. She laser cuts and etches all her designs before they are finished, painted and assembled by hand.
