My work has always consisted of simple drawn images which evolve through
the print processes I use. The imagery I base my drawings on has changed
greatly over the past few years, and currently is based on the 'everyday'
objects I like, possessions, pets, my home and surroundings, people in
my life and found imagery from magazines and books. The final prints are
often based on a few key images and combine objects which you wouldn't
normally see together.
I use both screenprinting and etching in combination, I have also started
to collage cut paper within my prints. I love the way each print process
gives images different qualities, from the very physical lines of an etching
to the smooth surface of a screenprint. The original drawing changes and
takes on new meaning through the repetition and transferrence from process
to process. I like to use the print process and it's easy repetition to
manipulate images, making changes in colour and layout on each print so
that each one is individual.
