David Waters studied Graphic Design & Illustration at Bath School of Art and Design, Bath Spa University College. He is currently based in Bristol. His work starts as simple pencil drawings which are then digitally altered, giving the images a clean, flat characteristic but maintain the hand drawn quality. Influenced by type, architectureand forgotten fonts, his source material is a combination of found objects and photography. Collecting photos of bland British signage and structures on days off. By accumulating discarded objects like ticket stubs there is a library of colours, type and subject matter to draw from. The colour spectrum barely changes, occasional subtle use of bright colour and heavy use of grey and putty tones.
